Simulation Center

Henry Ford Hospital and the Henry Ford Medical Group takes pride in being innovators when it comes to teaching the art of healing. More than $5 million has been invested in building a state-of-the-art, 12,000 square foot Clinical Skills Simulation Center at Henry Ford Hospital. Key features of the center include procedural simulation technologies using mannequins and other mechanical devices with live and achieved video capabilities.

The center holds advance curriculum and assess competencies of residents, physicians and other health care workers in the areas of inter-professional team communications, patient safety and doctor/patient communication skills.

Henry Ford Hospital sponsors more than 600 residents and fellows each year, who come from all over the wolrd to train in more than 40 accredited programs, making it one of the largest teaching hospitals in the country.

All programs are conducted under the direction of the 19 clinical departments within the Henry Ford Medical Group.

Residents and fellows provide valuable clinical services and the reputation of Henry Ford's training programs allows the Medical Group to attract high-quality faculty with academic and clinical interests.

Connecting research and education to excellence in patient care

Henry Ford Health System's mission is to improve human life through excellence in the science and art of health care and healing. The academic mission, under the title of Academic Affairs, is guided by Henry Lim, M.D., who oversees both Henry Ford's Departments of Research Administration and Medical Education. Dr. Lim works closely with Margot Lapointe, Ph.D. director of Research, and Eric Scher, M.D., acting director of Medical Education, to enhance current and develop new research and academic programs.
